Meet Our Head of School

Heather Williams

Greetings from the Head of School!

Dear Community of Wesley Academy,

It is with honor and great pleasure that I greet you as the new Head of School of Wesley Academy!  I consider it an absolute privilege to continue the missional work that began 21 years ago with Dr. William Hinson’s vision of a school that welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, growing them intentionally in Character, Faith and Knowledge.

First and most importantly, I am a follower of Jesus. I feel confident that He is actively working in and through me to serve others as I remain focused on being a steward of the qualities He has given me as an educator.  I grew up in a small central Texas town, surrounded by a loving family. My parents valued relationship with the Lord and with each other. To this day, they challenge me to prioritize what’s most important in our fast-paced, results-driven society.

My husband, Byron, and I have been married for 9 years. Life is sweetest when I am with him! The two girls who bring us both tremendous joy are our daughters Naomi (5) and Sadie (2). We regularly enjoy singing Disney numbers and worship songs in the car, beach days, camping, reading books, living room dance parties, and making ice cream together.  As we transition into the Wesley family, I look forward to introducing each of them to you.

Throughout my time in education and ministry, I have worked with students ranging from the Primary to Middle School level in a variety of different capacities.  As a teacher, I valued the daily opportunity to facilitate not only student academic growth, but also the emotional, social, and spiritual growth of young learners.  As an administrator, I strongly believe in a collaborative approach where all stakeholders are considered and our children remain at the center of each decision that is made.

I am incredibly excited about Wesley’s rich history, strong community values, and the passionate people of which it is made.  In the coming months, my objective is to meet you personally, listen to your perspective, and partner with you as we find the best ways to serve our kids.  Thank you for inviting me to be a part of Wesley’s future!

Looking forward,

Heather Williams
