The STEAM based curriculum of Wesley Academy provides students opportunities to develop the 21st Century skills needed for a successful future. Reading, writing, math, science, social studies, engineering, technology, and the arts are often taught through theme based projects to allow students to incorporate new learning into everyday life. Students develop communication and problem-solving skills while learning how to work cooperatively. Students receive individualized instruction based on daily observations and assessments, formal tests, and standardized test results. Small class sizes allow for instruction to be lead by student interest and ideas. Field trips provide exploratory and culminating experiences. Lessons are aligned with the state standards to provide students with a solid educational foundation and enhanced to ensure Wesley Academy student receive a unique experience in a safe and nurturing environment during these formative years.
Weekly Enrichment Opportunities:
Alongside academic instruction, students learn and practice biblical principles through Chapel, classroom devotions, and prayer. Biblical principles are reiterated through teachable moments that arise both within the classroom and through social interactions.
