ELIZABETH CHARKALIS WINS PBS CONTEST

Wesley Academy first grade student, Elizabeth Charkalis, submitted her story to the PBS Kids GO! Writers Contest.  Contest entries were judged on originality, creative expression, storytelling and integration of text and illustrations. Elizabeth wrote a story about a sleepover and all of the exciting events of the evening.  She included her cousin, Katie, and her brother, Evan.  Elizabeth's story included six pages of illustrations created with oil pastels.  Her family was very excited to receive her invitation for the 2010 awards ceremony to be held May 1st at the Houston Children's Museum.  Elizabeth was one of 12 Houston area students to be honored for excellent creative writing and illustrations.  Click below to enjoy her wonderful story.

DONATIONS!

Mark your calendars and tell your family and friends about Wesley Academy’s first ever garage sale! The sale will be held on the Wesley Campus - Saturday, September 11, from 9:00am - 2:00pm. All proceeds will help offset the cost of new computers.

WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING DONATIONS. Items that sell well are: baby/children items, furniture, sports equipment, TV’s, blue jeans, collectibles, toys, camping gear, tools, riding toys, new items of any kind, glassware, books, wall pictures, and Christmas décor. So clean out your closets and garages and help Wesley raise money to expand the technology department.
Donations may be dropped off at the school office between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Contact the school office at 713-266-3341 for further information or if you would like to volunteer and help make this event a great success.
