GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAMS
By Victoria Bond
The girls’ basketball teams have been working very well coming in early and practicing during P.E. period. The varsity has a large team with some new, but mostly old and experienced players. The strongest players are the returning eighth graders who “are great leaders,” said one player. The main thing this team needs to work on is shooting, which is why there is now an optional practice after school for 30 minutes on Mondays and Wednesdays. The J.V. team has some new and some old players. Their team is smaller, but they have some really, good key players. They are: Issa, Hannah, and Autumn, and they are very gifted. They are showing the new fifth graders how to play. Coach Wright says “the players are hard working, don’t give up and have very much enthusiasm.” She is very proud of the girls and is excited for the first game. The teams’ first game is Thursday, November 5, at 4:30, against Beren Academy. The varsitys’ first game is Tuesday, November 3, at 4:30, against Beren Academy. Come and support the teams!!!
