Class Goals and Expectations
Goals for your children:
- to know that they are a special child of God with special gifts
- to have self-confidence
- to not be afraid to try something new because they’re scared to fail and
convey that it is okay to make mistakes
- to develop a love of learning
- to make academic progress in all areas throughout the year
- to develop RESPONSIBLE INDEPENDENCE in making choices and
decisions
What you can expect from me:
- to work with you and your child always having the student’s best interest
at heart
- to respond to your questions or concerns in a timely manner
- to communicate in advance when tests and projects are assigned and
scheduled and sending detailed instructions for things done at home.
- to laugh with them and to love them
- to push them to their best, but not push them over the edge!
Homework:
- late work receives a zero until all work in turned in
- students “sign the book”
- student sign off on the assignment when it’s turned in
- don’t ever let frustration send your household into an uproar over an
assignment
- contact me immediately if there are problems with work such as not
understanding the assignment, taking too long, etc.
- a Bible memory verse will be sent home each week
Organization:
- binders/papers should be in the right folder/homework pocket
- study skills-taking notes, highlighting, techniques for studying for tests
- returning papers/making corrections
Expectations for children:
- to always ask questions if they don’t understand a concept or
assignment
- to do their homework and return assignments and projects when they
are due
Expectations for parents:
- monitor work at home; help with work but don’t do it
- check binders/planners each evening
- email me immediately with any questions or concerns
- trust me
