HOMECOMING 2010
On Friday, January 8, Wesley students celebrated their seventh annual Homecoming with many exciting events throughout the day. Students showed their Wesley pride as the girls wore mums and the boys were armbands decorated with carnations and ribbons in Wesley’s red and blue school colors. To kick off Homecoming activities, a free throw contest was held in the gymnasium. Winners were:
Grade 2 - Jackson Phillips and Mica Pugh
Grade 3 - Michael Minnich and Savanna Underwood
Grade 4 - Grant Reinhart and Morgen Reyna
Grade 5 - Fielding Davis and Anna Fields
Grade 6 - Tre' Rice and Isabella Cuadra
Grade 7 - Mitchell Kilkenny and Jenna Devine
Following the contest the girls and boys varsity basketball teams played a hard fought game against the Honor Roll School. The annual Homecoming Dance followed the game for middle school students and alumni.
Wesley has graduated seven eighth grade classes. The students in the first graduating class in 2003 are now seniors in colleges around the country. Many of these alumni and former students returned for Homecoming to rekindle friendships and visit their former teachers. What a credit to Wesley that these students attend a homecoming event at their former elementary school. We are proud of these remarkable young people and honored to have shared a part of their early lives.
