
STUDENT COUNCIL SHOES AND BEARS
The Wesley Academy Student Council provides students with opportunities for leadership roles in the school and to make charitable contributions to the community. In February, the Council has demonstrated their commitment to their roles and has participated in two important service projects that benefit the earthquake victims in
Soles4Souls…way to go Stone!!!!

Stone Larkin, student council representative, stepped forward inviting and organizing his fellow council member’s participation in the Soles4Souls program. Their mission is to collect shoes for victims of the 7.0 earthquake that devastated the Western Hemisphere’s poorest country,
Bear Hugs for Haiti

Council members also partnered with First Methodist Houston Westchase, Children and Family Ministries in collecting teddy bears and donating them to an orphan care and rescue center. The council was able to collect and donate 30 teddy bears to the Bear Hugs for Haiti Program.
The priorities of the Student Council is to promote school pride, organize community service projects, and plan activities for students. They will be coordinating one more school-wide event for the Star of Hope Mission during the month of April.
