
WWII 1ST LT. B.O. WILKINS SHARES HIS STORY

Eight grade Language Arts students recently studied and conducted research regarding the events surrounding the setting of Diary of a Young Girl, Anne Frank, a victim of the Holocaust.
To enrich their newly gained knowledge of these events, all middle school students intently listened during an assembly as First Lieutenant, B.O. Wilkins shared his military career as a POW from the Battle of the Bulge, and as a part of the 99th Infantry Division. Throughout his military career, Mr. Wilkins received numerous awards and recognitions including Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Prisoner of War Medal, Battle of the Bulge, E-A-ME Victory Medal, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Europe-Africa-Mid-Eastern Medal and Charles, Prince of Belgium Two Citations with Fourrageres.
